What are the benefits of using a steam shower as therapy?
Steam showers offer effective treatment for respiratory and sinus conditions such as asthma, bronchitis and allergies. They help rid the body of toxins and waste by destroying pathogens within. As you steam, circulation throughout your body increases with the expansion of blood vessels and a feeling of revitalization sets in. In addition, steam showers strengthen the immune system, increase flexibility and enhance the tone of your skin in only a short period of time.

- Relieves muscle tension and stiff joints
- Boosts the immune system
- Increases body circulation
- Keeps skin looking youthful
- Improves vascular flow
- Slows bacterial growth during illness

How long does it take to start the steam?
Almost all of our units will start producing a heavy steam in about 4-7 minutes upon pressing the STEAM button within the shower. From there you are able to steam as little or as much as you would like. Some of our units even provide the option of using therapeutic oils during a steam for different outcomes such as relaxation, decongestion, romance and more.

How much water do your steam showers use?
Conserving water use is one of the most important things a household can do in an effort to Go Green. It is important for us to consider going green in our homes because not only are we helping protect our world’s depleting natural resources, but it also helps lower the economic impact of wasteful water usage. 75% of the water used in our homes comes from bathroom showers, toilets, and sinks. Americans often think that going Green means sacrificing the things we love, but at Steam Planet going Green means adding luxury.

11 liters of water are used per minute in a regular shower. A 17 minute shower therefore uses about 187 liters of water (or around 50 gallons of water). When using a Steam Planet Steam Shower a 12 minute steam followed by a 5 minute shower (at 11 liters per minute) only uses a total of 55 liters (or around 14.5 gallons). Saving you more than 2/3 the amount of water you would have used in a regular shower.

An average family of 4 uses about 28,500 liters (7,528 gallons) of water per month, costing about $59.00 each month. If that family would have a Steam Planet Steam Shower and 2/3 less water was used, they would be saving around $39.00 per month. $39.00 x 12 months comes out to an average savings of about $467.00 per year.

How much electricity is used and how much does it cost?
A 2.4 kilowatt steam box costs approximately $0.045 per 17 minute increment to run. A 17 minute steam shower everyday for 30 days equals $0.045 x 30 days = $1.36. The typical use of a steam shower with one 17 minute session a day costs you about $1.36 a month and about $16.31 each year.

What are the benefits of an Infrared Sauna?
Infrared saunas work using infrared heaters to convert light directly to heat. This heat has the effect of warming nearby objects without raising the air temperature. Far-infrared radiant (FIR) heat is often confused with ultraviolet (UV) radiation because both types of energy are present in the sun’s rays. However, FIR does not damage the skin the way UV does while still providing many of the benefits of natural sunlight. With infrared saunas the waves penetrate the body 1.5 inches, giving the bather deep tissue warmth great for sore muscles, stiffness, and joint pain.

Infrared saunas heat up much quicker than traditional saunas and allow the bather a longer sauna session with the lower air temperatures. With these conditions, infrared saunas are much more suitable for people with respiratory and health issues that prohibit them from using a traditional sauna.

Infrared saunas are less expensive, easier to install, and require less maintenance than traditional saunas. They come in many sizes and are often quite portable, making them a great choice for a home sauna.

While the upfront cost of a far-infrared sauna is quite reasonable, a great deal more savings is realized when it comes to installation. An infrared sauna heater does not use water so there is no need for moisture barriers, special drainage systems, or complex electrical wiring. Maintenance is much less involved as well, since there are no water-borne bacteria to take up residence inside and the sauna itself stays nice and dry.

How does Infrared compare to Traditional?
As said before, Infrared Saunas penetrate the skin and reach 1.5 inches into the body heating the tissue from the inside out. Common benefits from this therapy include:
- Improved blood circulation
- Cleansing of body toxins
- Easing pain and stiffness caused by arthritis
- Stress relief
- Relief of muscle soreness
- Dry air is better for bathers with respiratory issues
- Cooler air is better tolerated by bathers with some medical conditions
- Infrared therapy is similar to that of the suns rays, so it benefits bathers with vitamin deficiencies and seasonal affective disorder

What is needed prior to installation?
All units are pre-plumbed and come with a ½ inch water supply to the drain. The units are either 110V or 220 power supply, depending on the unit. Our website pages and spec pages provide the needed information on power supply, unit descriptions, and dimensions.

How do the units come and what should I expect when they’re delivered?
All units come broken down in separate boxes and need to be assembled when ready. The only units that come fully assembled are walk-in tubs and shower panels. Units are various sizes, dimensions and weights when shipped.

Do your products come with a warranty?
All of our units are covered by a 3-year parts warranty and a limited lifetime warranty on all walk-in bathtub doors. Most parts are in our warehouse and ready for shipment.
